Happy Friday everyone!! I can't tell you how excited I am to be doing NOTHING this weekend. i have been so nonstop lately and a break from it all would be nice. I look forward to sleeping in, shopping around, spending time with my BF and endless Lost episodes!

I Was Here

Hello lovely followers. I have been seriously lacking in blogging and its making me sad. But I have lots of new and exciting stuff happening, so I suppose I will cut myself some slack. The good news is I got an awesome new job with William Morris Endeavors as an Event Logistics coordinator! Its been a dream come true really. I am so excited to be doing something I love! I cant wait to start but its been crazy busy wrapping up all my responsibilities at my current job. I am sad to leave the people here who have been amazingly fun to work with. I will definitely miss the radio environment, but luckily I think I have made some lifelong friends :)


Also I turn the big 25 this weekend and the 4th is always a good time w/ family, friends, bbqs and fireworks!! So when things settle down again, hopefully I can pick this blog back up! I want to include more photos of my adventures and let you guys in more on my life! SO a BIG thanks for continuing to follow me!! I will leave you with a brand new Beyonce track that has been playing on repeat at work called "I Was Here." Her new album "4" has some heart wrenching ballads that have left me swooning over the amazing Miss B! ENJOY!

Conan O'Brien is so funny but more so wise. The past year has taught him great lessons that he was kind enough to share to Dartmouth's graduating class this year. What he says about your life being different at 22, 32, 42 is so true. I mean I am only 24 but I can already foresee that what I thought I would be doing upon graduating in 2008 is not what I will be doing now or maybe even ever. Life changes and failures happen, but as Conan says, "if you accept your misfortune and handle it right, your perceived failure could become a catalyst for profound reinvention."

What a touching story! Meredith is right, its so nice to see a football player do good for others! La'Shaun is such an amazing boy. I cant imagine being that strong at my age! Props to Ray Lewis and the other players who have showed this boy true love and compassion. Stories like these make me believe in man kind again.

Anyway, this song "Poison and Wine" is a haunting break up song. Seriously, it pulls at your heart strings whether you are in or out of a relationship. Their voices compliment each other so beautifully. The Civil Wars is currently on tour w/ Adele.

I failed to mention, my favorite and most talented American Idol went home last night. I hate America for this. Really?? You like to hear Jacob cry before, during, and after every song? Haley growling and awkward body tilt is enjoyable to your ears and eyes? But Casey, who is musically and vocally more talented than most American Idols of all 10 seasons, goes home??? This is what I get for not watching and not voting this week. SIGH...

The Royal Wedding

I'll admit, prior to today, I was a little over hearing all about the Royal wedding. It was just completely broken down to every little detail and talked about every other minute. However, today I set my alarm for 6:15 am in efforts to go to our corporate building and then to work before 9am. As soon as my alarm when off, I checked twitter on my crackberry and saw images of Kate. I was sold. She looked stunning and I had to see the entire thing. Luckily, I had a inkling I'd be intrigued way more the day of than prior to and DVR-ed the wedding! I watched it all back this am and was in awe. William and Kate looked so happy and in love. They both looked wonderful. They're families (aka Prince Harry--yum!) looked prefect. It was a beautiful ceremony and for the stature that it was, it felt low key.

I love weddings!! It was a nice way to start the morning!

If you don't know, now you knoww (a little BIGGIE to get us started). But really you may or may not be aware of my love/hate relationship with Taylor Swift. I think shes endearing but sometimes I want to punch her. Hence we love/hate. I love me some Britney Spears. After watching her on GMA and seeing her special on MTV, I've accepted the fact that Britney will never be "I'm a slave for you" epic ever again. However, if she is healthy and can making catchy beats like the one above, I can forgive her for being fairly lifeless. Nevertheless, "Til the World Ends" makes me want to seriously break it down! American Idol

So every year I say ehh I don't know, I probably won't watch American Idol. And for a while I didn't. Then in college I was dating someone who was obsessed, then I moved home and it became the family show, then I just couldnt give it up. Much to my surprise, many people still do watch this show. Let's face it, it's fun! AI locks you in somehow and even with the new judges and the potential of it boring me, it didn't.

On that note, I am starting to differentiate between the good and the bad on the show this year. Upon first watching it this season, I wasn't too impressed. However, this season is actually mixing it up a bit. The contestants are a bringing a variety of sounds from country, reggae, latino, and even indie rock. I am very much loving one guy in particular. This guy:


Casey Abrams! He is not only funny and dorky but totally has the pipes to match! His rendition of "I Get by With a Little Help From My Friends" was perfection. He has the heart, talent and adorable factor going for him. When he said he idolized Joe Cocker because he isn't the best looking and that inspired his look, I fell in love.

Yesterday I has the pleasure of attending Adele's "Live at Letterman" performance at the Ed Sullivan Theatre. I have always found Adele to be amazing, but last night she confirmed that for me. I saw Adele at the VH1 Divas concert last year and 'Hometown Glory' was an epic performance. This time she sang songs from her albums "19" and her newest album "21" and WOW. She seriously sings so effortlessly with a voice that will knock you out. I love love her new album and have been in love with her latest single, 'Someone Like You' ever since I heard it.

Here she is singing the single in her beautiful apartment. I just love everything about this woman!

I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day. Yesterday was perfection for me. I surprised my bf at work with a chocolate covered strawberry cupcake from our favorite pastry shop, Crumbs, as well as his favorite coffee, large iced hazelnut! I like to think it made his day :) Then he came home with a dozen lovely red roses, hand-picked chocolates and a card so perfect it made me cry. We enjoyed a Valentines dinner at Nino's on the Upper East Side that stuffed us to the brim.

Overall it was a nice night to share together. I am not all in favor of celebrating Valentine's day, it was annoying when I was single and part of me still remembers how I felt then, however, this Valentine's day was special and I very much appreciated the reminder that I am loved. I know I can take this for granted sometimes and I like to think Valentine's day put me in my place--stop your bitching, someone loves you! I need to remind myself of that more often.

Lady Gaga

I have a love/dislike relationship with Lady Gaga. I say love/dislike because I go from seriously loving her work/music/style to not really understanding why she has to do all these crazy showy productions. I never really hate her--thus the dislike. I respect her creativity and total insanity and there is no denying she has a great voice. I just dislike her sometimes. However, in the above video of her w/ Anderson Cooper, I loved her again. I was reminded that Lady Gaga lets it allll out there because she wanted the fame SO BAD. She was so passionate about making it and now that she has, there's not stopping her. I loved how the producers talk about how she is willing to show the world who she is. That is all she wanted after all.

Her performance last night at the 2011 Grammy Awards was strange nonetheless, but good! She looked and sounded fantastic. Like my sister said "she looks more abs and less ribs,"--so true. Her song "Born This Way" has definitely grown on me, although its it reminiscent tho Madonnas "Express Yourself"

FABIO, no not the long haired glamorous one...

Top Chef is one of my favorite shows on TV these days. It's funny, creative, exciting and let's be serious, its all about food...who wouldn't love a show about FOOD. I've especially loved this season because it is comprised of the Top Chef ALL STARS. Some of my favorites have returned (and left again) for the chance to be the TOP CHEF, including Carla, Mike, Rich, Spike, and my all time fave FABIO. Which leads me to the rest of this post.

I have been madly in love with Fabio ever since season 5. The man cracks me up and that is a strong quality for me in a person. The man can cook, he made it to the Top 4 in his season, but sadly he was sent home last night. It was a big heartbreaking seeing that i loved his life but also he was sent home on making a bad burger. I die for a juicy delicious burger! How can the man I love fail at making BURGERS! sadness.

Regardless, I am a fan of Fabio fo' life. I hope he gets his own show because the man is talented and hilarious and I can listen to his Italian American accent all day.

For Freedom, for Civility!!

Fight on Egypt! I am so proud of you!!!! I am overwhelmed with emotion as I watch videos like this and others with similar notions. Egypt is coming together as one, Christians, Muslims, men and women, to fight for their rights and for their voice to be heard. The government has too much control of their freedoms and they are finally doing something about it. Although, the revolution has taken a violent turn and many have lost their lives as a result, the country is pushing forward in hopes for a better future. I support you Egypt and am hopeful for progress!

Egypt is experiencing a revolution unlike they have ever seen. The people have united to riot against their government. With the President and his regime in control for the last 30 years, the people have seen and had enough. They are ready for a change and for their voice to be heard. Sadly he riots and demonstrations are becoming large in numbers and a few have turned violent. As an Egyptian, I support the protesters. I support change and the freedom in making decisions especially when it comes to your government and how you are ruled. Power to the People! I really hope this all settles down soon though and that they can agree on a peaceful outcome.

Sadly, my family and I were supposed to fly out In February to see our realtives we haven't seen in years, but I am not sure that is going to happen. With the US Department issuing an advisory to not fly out at this time, we are hesitating on risking anything. However, its been a long time coming for us to visit our homeland and so we are crossing fingers that things will get better.

Until then, I pray for the government to hear their people out and for mu family to remain safe.
