First we lose Matsui, which was somewhat understandable..he was an older player and had a great career with the Yankees. But today we traded Melky Cabrera for Javier Vasquez- starting pitcher of Atlanta Braves. UGH! As much as starting pitchers are needed in NY, to lose Melky was such a defeat. He was a clutch player- young and strong. I personally would have liked to see Johnny Damon go. The passion isn't there for him and he really hasn't wowed us until post season. This is a loss for the Yankees, in my opinion. Gonna really miss Melky!

sad.
2009 has managed to yet again take another life. Brittany Murphy died of cardiac arrest this morning. She was only 32. Incredibly sad. She was a great actress w. movies that include Just Married, Uptown Girls, 8 Mile and my favorite Clueless. RIP Brittany.

Frustation!!!
Why is it that every time I say I want to move out of my small hometown to the city/or around the city people act like its the worst idea in the world?? Yes I am aware rent is high, I'm aware I'll be doing my laundry, barely eating, spending more money than usual...blah blah etc etc. But seruously I am going to be 24 next year. I have been living at home since 2008. NONE of my friends live in the small/pathetic town! I shouldn't be scrutinized for moving out. I should be encouraged to live my life and have my independence dammit! I think I am young enough to make mistakes and figure it out for myself, so if this is a mistake- which i highly doubt it will be, then I will learn it for myself. The sad thing is people don't understand how good I can save sometimes. I think I got this....so everyone else needs to just move out the way and let me be :)

#musicmonday
This song is adorable.
"well the stars up in the sky
and the leaves in the trees
all the broken bits that make you trip up and grassy bits inbetween
all the matter in the world
is how much i like you"
all the matter in the world
is how much i like you"

Equality for All!!!
"Like many of you who live in New Jersey, I’ve been following the progress of the marriage-equality legislation currently being considered in Trenton.
I’ve long believed in and have always spoken out for the rights of same sex couples and fully agree with Governor Corzine when he writes that, ‘The marriage-equality issue should be recognized for what it truly is — a civil rights issue that must be approved to assure that every citizen is treated equally under the law.’
I couldn’t agree more with that statement and urge those who support equal treatment for our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters to let their voices be heard now."
---Jersey Native- Bruce Springsteen standing up for Gay Rights.
"Peace is unstable where citizens are denied the right to speak freely or worship as they please; choose their own leaders or assemble without fear. ... A just peace includes not only civil and political rights _ it must encompass economic security and opportunity. For true peace is not just freedom from fear, but freedom from want." -President Barack Obama
So proud. Peace on Earth!

and I'm always going to want to blow your mind...
When I first heard Train was back with a new song, I laughed. Train? Really?? But I am not going to lie, this song "Hey, Soul Sister" is unbelievably catchy and kind of heartwarming. My friend Brett mentioned he liked it and I finally gave the song a try and was slightly in love. I just love when artists come up with new lyrics and a new way to profess their love. Give it a listen above!
P.S Vevo- new version of youtube- all music videos on HD= AWESOME!

This song is amazing. I loved it so much last season when it came out and once again winter rolls around and I want to hear this over and over again. I think this is such a fitting mood for the winter. Although the holidays are cheerful, the season itself is rather depressing--at least in my opinion. Sara and Ingrid's voice compliment each other so well. I just love everything about this song and adorable video!!

2009 International Emmy's
It's been quite a while...sorry!
But while I was gone for a while I did get to be a talent escort at the International Emmy's this year. To my surprise, I was asked to escort what my boss called "the terrible trio." I was surprised because it was my first year and I was asked to escort three guests, while most veterans were only asked to escort one. I suppose she found me qualified to do the job then! Now my friends who got me this gig, have mentioned that there were usually not many A listers- or at least anyone worth anything at the Emmys. However, I was handed my terrible trio to discover I was escorting Alexa Chung- MTV VJ, Moby- infamous singer from back in the day, and my favorite- Ed Westwick. Yes, that's right, I got to walk side by side with one and only, Mr. C huck Bass. Now if you watch Gossip Girl at all you know this is HUGE. Ed Westwick is gorgeous and his accent is brilliant/to die for. Unfortunately they wre called the terrible trio for a reason. They were all brought in with obnoxious publicist and talent agents who allowed them to say two words and photograph for a hot sec. They're appearance at the Emmy's was made and then they were off! However, it was still fun to say I was in the presence of such hottness. Oh and I also walked right by THE Miss Barbara Walters :)
Here are some pics from that night:

P.S. Alexa was nice, even though I can't really stand her. She really needs to eat a burger too.
