HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Its almost 2011! AHHH. I cannot believe how fast this year has gone. I will be 25 next year...25 yikes! Overall, 2010 was great. Lots of ups and downs as most years bring, but I am thankful for a lot of what 2010 has taught me. With that I leave you with my New Year's Resolutions. I suck at these most of the time but I will try my hardest to maintain these goals in hopes for a happy and healthy 2011!

1) Be healthier-eat better, run/workout.
2) BUDGET! save more, spend less!
3) Excel in my career--which means figuring out what that is and doing whatever it takes to make it work!
4) Gather with friends more often!
5) Read more!
5) Volunteer
6) Run a 5K
7) Explore NYC more!

That's all i got for now. What are your resolutions??

United States of Pop 2010

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! I had a lovely Christmas surrounded by my family, friends, and 2 feet of snow! Here's DJ Earworm's infamous yearly mashups for Pop music 2010! I love how he ties all these hits together, however, I could have done with way less Kesha.

Enjoy!

So this is Christmas...

RIP John Lennon. Today we remember the day John Lennon was killed outside his NYC apartment. His music still lives on. I thought this tune would be appropriate since it is Christmas time and one of my absolute favorite Lennon songs.

Hot Yoga in NYC

Last night, two of my girlfriends and I decided to try hot yoga. My friend Anna had already taken a few classes before so she was prepared for what was in store, however Julia and I were not. I can't say I loved it, but I dont think I hated it either. The more I think about it, I kind of want to try it again. I like the concept--relaxing your mind, body, soul in 100+ degree heated room. However, I don't think my body liked the idea to much. The constant switching of positions in HOT temperatures left me light headed and dizzy probably 40% of the time there. I had to constantly sit to make sure I didn't pass out or vomit all over my two friends who were just stretching away in front of me. I have never fainted before but I am pretty sure I have come close to it and that was the exact feeling I had last night. I know I don't drink enough water as it is, and last night's dehydration fest was an ultimate realization of that.

The class lasted a good 90 minutes...death. I think and hour would have sufficed. Overall, I wasn't displeased really, I just think it was a lot to take in for my first yoga class ever. Maybe with some practice and mastering regular yoga, I would be ready for hot yoga again. I was also told hot vinyasa is more flowing positions of yoga. I think I might enjoy that more, because the stop and go was a lot to handle yesterday.

If you're in the NYC area and want to try some cheap hot yoga, check out Yoga to the People.

Christmas Lights

\

This is Coldplay's new single "Christmas Lights." Although, its a sad and depressing Christmas song, it's still a beautiful tun. It sorta fits my Debbie downer mood today.

Those Christmas lights
Light up the street
Down where the sea and city meet
May all your troubles soon be gone
Oh Christmas lights, keep shining on

i love ny.

I often find myself forgetting that I do in fact live in NYC...one of the greatest cities in the world. This gem of an article reminded me how wonderful this city really is.

A few personal favorites:

47. There is always someone crazier than you. ALWAYS.

31. You don't even need a passport, or a license, to partake in goat-eyeball tacos.

30. The fact that one-bedroom apartments cost an average minimum of a half-million dollars means we think nothing of spending $12 on lunch.

26. Smart people are the norm, not the exception. (Which doesn't mean they're sane, but at least no one's boring.)

22. How easy it is to find doughnuts, pizza, Chinese food, or any other snack your drunken self desires at 4 a.m. Or to continue to drink. Responsibly!

10. Subway rage. Bike-lane rage. Walking rage. Random rage. These are our therapy. Although we all go to therapy, too. No judgments! We bitch, therefore we are.

7. Subway "prewalking," in which you walk to the exact right spot on the platform to board the train car that will save you the most time upon exit, exists and has a name. Gotta respect.

1. If you can make it here, you really can make it anywhere. But why would you bother to go anywhere else?

UD BLUE HEN forever.

Tomorrow at 3pm I will be en route to my third UD Homecoming as an ALUM. I cant believe how fast time flies. I still miss college everyday. I miss having friends around all the time and our crazy nights of endless irresponsibility. Growing up is hard...lol
UD. yup.
Communication. It's the first thing we really learn in life. Funny thing is, once we grow up, learn our words and really start talking, the harder it becomes to know what to say. Or how to ask for what we really need.

always, always yours.

This song popped in my head today and I have been listening to it on repeat. It's just such a beautiful song. Make's me think of you.

Because we know, instinctively, as a people, that if we are to get through the darkness and back into the light, we have to work together. And the truth is there will always be darkness, and sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel isn’t the promised land.

Sometimes, it’s just New Jersey.

Halloween!

I was inspired by Forgive Me. I'm blowing your mind to post pics from past Halloweens! This is one of my favorite holidays. I just loveee being creative and dressing up. I've always gone all out for Halloween and will probably continue to even when I am older and my kids get embarrassed of me. Anywho, this year my bf and I are going as Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog. Tonight is his work party so I will be treking the streets of NYC in a lovely blonde wig and a nauseating pink dress. HAHA.

New Beats.

I'm searching for some really good new music. I put my IPOD on shuffle and was sooo uninterested in half my choices. This new song "Crossfire" is pretty good and I was always a Killers fan so I can see Brandon Flower's new stuff being pretty good. Although, I'm not so sure if its considered still 'new' since I think his album has been out for a while.

I've been really into Mumford and Sons, Florence and the Machine, and Sara Barielle's new cd "Kaleidoscope" lately. I want to pick up (aka download) the new Bruno Mars album because I've heard good things and Sufjan Stevens. I like having a variey of sounds but am definitely getting over some of my oldd music. If you have any good suggestions, DO SHARE :)

The Social Network

I saw the Social Network this past weekend and lovedd it. It was brilliantly done with the perspective of all "creators" of Facebook involved. Most people thought Mark Zuckerberg, the creator of Facebook, was put in a harsh light. I am not sure I agree completely. ALthough Mark did seem like an asshole sometimes, I think he's just this socially awkward nerd that used his incredible talent to tell the world that they can shove it. He's a genius to create such an awesome network and was passionate about making it a BIG DEAL. We'll I think we can all say he succeeded.

This movie is awesome and I would recommend seeing it. Plus ALL the characters are delicious to look at.

Favorite Scene:

Facebook Lawyer: Mr. Zuckerberg, do I have your full attention?
Mark Zuckerberg: [stares out the window] No.
Facebook Lawyer: Do you think I deserve it?
Mark Zuckerberg: [looks at the lawyer] What?
Facebook Lawyer: Do you think I deserve your full attention?

Mark Zuckerberg: I had to swear an oath before we began this deposition, and I don't want to purjure myself, so I have a legal obligation to say no.
Facebook Lawyer: Okay - no. You don't think I deserve your attention.
Mark Zuckerberg: I think if your clients want to sit on my shoulders and call themselves tall, they have the right to give it a try - but there's no requirement that I enjoy sitting here listening to people lie. You have part of my attention - you have the minimum amount. The rest of my attention is back at the offices of Facebook, where my colleagues and I are doing things that no one in this room, including and especially your clients, are intellectually or creatively capable of doing.
[pauses]
Mark Zuckerberg: Did I adequately answer your condescending question?

First day of FALL?!?!

So today is the first day of fall, however my calendar says its tomorrow and that has really thrown me off! Eyewitness News' Bill Evans has informed me that technically fall beings arround 11pm tonight, sooo maybe that explains my calendar just choosing to say its tomorrow?! Well either way,

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF FALL!
(how beautiful is Central Park during the Autumn months, I CANT WAIT)

This is one of my favorite seasons and this year, I am seriously craving FALL! With the start of football season and talks of HOMECOMING 2010 already, I am soo pumped for fall to get underway. I may have already had some pumpkin spice lattes to get the party started.

Enjoy Everyone!!

ok Go!

Ok Go always have these awesome creative videos. I am really into this song too. Enjoy their new video "White Knuckles"-- made using very talented dogs and Ikea furniture-- so simple, so smart.

what a voice! Florence and the Machine "you've got the love" Enjoy!

Dallas Green=City and Colour

This City and Colour song "The Girl" is soo beautiful and perfect for this season. Does anybody else feel like they have a certain song or song type that reminds them of the weather? I think fall is quieter, crisp, chilly and has that depressing yet quiet feel as winter soon approaches. I usually turn to Ingrid Michaelson or Ray LaMontague during these seasons. Like summertime is fun, sunny, beach tunes and dance beats, but I think fall slows us down and I think the music does too. Maybe its just me, either way, this song gets me ready for fall!

Enjoy!

"And he comments on her glorious curls
Says darling come with me
I'll show you a whole new world
"

Anyone else super excited for November 8th?? Conan is a genius and I hope his show kicks all NBC late nights (well Fallon can keep rockin) in ratings!

one my favorite quotes, clearly.

Egyptian Vampires!

This green-eyed beauty is the newest addition to the 'Twilight' saga fam. He will be playing Benjamin the Egyptian vampire who helps the Cullens in the last movie "Breaking Dawn." The best part about this is that he actually is of Egyptian decent!!! YAY!! If you don't know this, I am also 100% Egyptian and its soo exciting to see my people on tv/movies. Rami Malek has had various roles in tv and on-screen. His biggest roles would be PFC Merriell 'Snafu' Shelton on HBO's mini series "The Pacific." He is also known as Kenny in "The War at Home."

This is soo exciting! Egypt Represent!

Gleeking out!

I can't wait for all my shows to come back this fall, especially GLEE!! This video is one of my favorite performances by Finn and Rachel.

2010 Emmys

The 2010 Emmys aired this Sunday and of course I watched everything from the red carpet on E! to the red carpet on NBC and to the very last "Thank you and Goodnight!" Jimmy Fallon did an awesome job of hosting this year. I expected him to be funny, crazy and entertaining and he sure did deliver.

I absolutely loved the opening with the cast of Glee and surprise friends- Joel McHale (Community and The Soup), Jorge Garcia (Lost), some chick from vampire diaries, Betty White, and the delicious Jon Hamm (Mad Men). Overall the show was different and cool. Of course it had its slow moments, but it was better than most have been in the past.

Here are a few of my favorite Emmy Styles:
Tina Fey can do no wrong. This gown is so classy.

Newly single Elisabeth Moss is making her ex-hubby regret his life in this amazing dress!

Heather Morris really caught my attention in this dress.
Usually I don't love all glitter but this was done so right!

Jon Hamm is hotter than Don Draper.
It's probably the hair that's doing it for me.

I don't like when celebrities wear one color making them a
blob of brownish blonde hair, makeup, and dress- but Claire Danes pulled this one off perfectly.

My favorite of the evening! Lea Michele is adorable already
so when she rocked this navy Oscar de la Renta dress heads were turning!

At first I was unsure about Kim Kardashian's dress.
My mom hated it--she thought she should have showed off her curves more, haha.
But honestly I think it was classy and perfect for the night. She looked like Cleopatra!

The end!

New Beats!

Thank you Sweet Nothings for giving me a first listen to this song! It's such a sweet song and very addictive.

Day 11 - A song from your favorite band

A song from my favorite band: "Be Somebody" -Kings of Leon

Kings of Leon is definitely a band I love--not sure about favorite band ever, but definitely a favorite. "Be Somebody" is such a great song. It makes me want to do just that "be somebody." I use this song when I need to feel motivated. Awesome lyrics, beat, and the guys are definitely lookers.

Enjoy!

Concert Review!

Hello all! So as I clearly made it known earlier that I was attending the Something Corporate concert last Friday and it well, it was magical! I went with a good friend of mine Sarah, who I hadn't spent quality time with in a while so it was nice to catch up! We were beyond excited to start up the celebrating of our youth again with delicious four dollar margaritas at Mother Burger, however four margs later and we were running kinda late to Roseland for the show. We get there and the line is wrapped around the building--twice. FML. No worries, my slightly intoxicated self somehow got us to the front of the line and we were in NO time. Cheers!

Once inside the Roseland, Sarah waited for a friend in the lobby while I knew I had to get in the pit or we were going to see miniature Andrew and friends and I did NOT wait 24 years to see one of my high school dreams get shit on by tweens! Soo as I made my way toward the stage, I made a few friends along the way. They we're over ecstatic fans who squealed over the idea that their beloved Andrew would be feet away. Little did they know that I met him, twice. ;) After befriending these little ones, I decided to ask their age. Their response--17, 18, and 20. WTF IS MY LIFE. I felt like a granny up there, but couldnt help but also think, how the F did these kids know Something Corporate. They we're popular when I was 17. Sick.

Anyway, the concert eventually started--with Sarah and new friend Seth by my side-- and it was a blast. No opener and 1.5 hours of non-stop punk rock goodness. They played a few of my faves--She Paints Me Blue, Cavanaugh Park and the heartbreaker- Konstantine. Andrew sounded wonderful and rocked out on the piano as always. Sarah and I were really hoping for them to sing "Walking By" but I guess one ballad-esque song was enough (especially since Konstantine is 9mins long!)

Overall I the concert left me feeling 17 again. I recalled all the moments I had listening to SOCO in high school and crying over some boy drama or something of the like. Regardless, it was awesome. Now I await seeing Jimmy Eat World in September with my sis! Yet another high school dream come true!

Monday, August 16, 2010

Keep in mind that there's no need to be in a hurry. If you continue putting in a small amount of time toward your goals every day, you will be a success.

I really needed to read this today.

Thank you Horoscope.

I'M GOING TO SEE SOMETHING CORPORATE IN CONCERT TONIGHT!!! AHHHHHHHH! MY TEEN SELF IS FREAKING THE F*CK OUT!

Day 10 - A song that makes you fall asleep

I know I have been failing at these lately. It's hard to keep up when your personal computer is in shambles and you don't really want to get caught ignoring work, so please bare with me my very few readers.

A song that makes me fall asleep: "See you Soon"- Coldplay

I love everything about Coldplay. I love that I can find a song to fit every single one of my moods. When I read this song challenge--I didnt think of a song that bores me, thus making me fall asleep, but rather a song that helps me fall asleep. Whenever I have a hard time passing out at night (which is rare) I put coldplay quietly on my IPOD and set it near my pillow. Most Coldplay songs are calming and soothing--making sleep come sooner. I love their sound and this song especially. This live version is too good to be true. There's so much depth and emotion in this song. Calms and moves me all at once.

Enjoy!!

Summerstage!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of volunteering at Central Park's Summerstage concert series. Last night's performance was by a group called Complexions Contemporary Ballet. This wasn't like your conservative tutu-wearing ballet--the dancers were modern and loose. Their motive is to dance with no boundaries. It was beautiful and moving and I loved every minute of it.

My job as a volunteer was to attend the stand at the entrance and hand out programs and Summerstage schedules. I also had to ask for donations-seeing that without donations there would be no Summerstage at all. All the events held there are free except for a few larger acts, but overall its a wonderful experience on a cheap budget. I met some awesome people, all with the same goals/major, hoping that volunteering at Summerstage would better their opportunities in the real world. I also got to watch the show while working--so fun!! i Felt like I was back in college and was a member of the Crew in SCPAB again :)

Overall it was a great night. SO many donations--I was surprised honestly. In a tough economy and at a free event in NYC, I seriously didn't expect to see many people donating over a dollar. However we had various people hand in 20's, 10's and 5's! Not going to lie it made me smile and I was happy that people wanted to support the arts and Summerstage! Also the event brought all walks of life. I was expecting an older more mature crowd at a ballet, but there was all ages at this event. It was brilliant! My favorite piece was their U2 compilation called 'Rise.' After having a crappy day, this piece brighten my spirits. I loveee U2 and the dance they created to go along to it was beautiful.

Such a fine time, I suggest everyone to get out to Summerstage and enjoy a free event this summer! Most of all- DONATE :)

Titanic + Arabic instruments= heaven.

I think I have found a new obsession: weddings. I know you gasp thinking "Omg, you're not thinking of marriage are you?"" Answer is: Hell no. However, I love wedding ceremonies, pictures, design, dresses, creativity, flowers, music. EVERYTHING about weddings warms my heart and soul.

This song above will be what I walk down the aisle to. If my husband doesn't like it than he can suck it. It's the freakin Titanic song in an Arabic instrumental version. I'm DYING.

It's Kind of a Funny Story

This movie looks good! Interesting, funny, smart--my type of movie. The cast is a great lineup too! Starring Zach Galifianakis (LOVE HIM), Kier Gilchrist, Viola Davis, Emma Roberts, Zoe Kravitz, Lauren Graham, Jim Gaffigan and Aasif Mandvi.

In Theatres Sept 24th. I'm sold!

Day 09 - A song that you can dance to

A song I can dance to: "I Got a Feeling" Black Eyed Peas

Let's be serious here--this song makes anyone want to get up and dance! This song puts me in such a good mood! Great beat to rock out to!

quotes that speak to me.

Day 08 - A song that you know all the words to

A song I know all the words to: "Dirty Pop" *NSYNC

No Joke. I used to eat, breathe and sleep these guys. OBSESSION was an understatement. I remember when this jam came out I was ecstatic. I was certain these guys would be around forever (they stopped recording after this CD, tear!) This song was so good though. I knew every lyric and still do. Go ahead, judge away, but NSYNC was the sh*t back in my day!

*NJOY!

spot on...

“I’m selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and sometimes hard to handle; but if you can’t handle me at my worst then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at by best.”
- - - Marilyn Monroe

Day 07 - A song that reminds you of a certain event

Song that reminds me of a certain event: "Be With You"- Mr. Big

This song brings me back to sophomore year-Russell Dinning Hall-Lunch/Dinner time- with my 5 best friends. This song would pop in one of our heads and immediately we would stop the chatter and sing along. I don't mean just sing it to ourselves, I mean belt it out in the middle of the dining hall for all to hear. We carried this tradition everywhere--bars, walking to parties, dorm parties, the gym--everywhere. It was amazing and always left us crying/laughing. I miss those days so much.

Fri--Happy--day!

LOVE that Train continues to make music that puts me in a great mood!! This song is their second single from their newest CD "Save me, San Francisco." I will be listening to it on repeat at work so I can keep up the good mood on this Friday! Excited to celebrate my bf's birthday this Satuday in NYC and again poolside in NJ on Sunday!

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Day 06 - A song that reminds of you of somewhere

Song that reminds me of somewhere: ""Good Day" Angels and Airwaves

This song reminds me of my high school days--sitting in my best friend Robin's backyard, music blasting, lounging by the pool, tanning for hours and eating everything in sight. Ahh, the good old days! Angels and Airwaves and Avril Lavigne were played on repeat on her old school cd player. GOOD times.

Enjoy!

noteworthy

"There is nothing that wastes the body like worry, and one who has any faith in God should be ashamed to worry about anything whatsoever.."
{Mahatma Gandhi}

Day 05 - A song that reminds you of someone

Song that Reminds me of Someone: "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" by Stevie Wonder

This song will forever remind me of my roommate and best friend of four years. We've lost connection since college ended but whenever this song comes on I always think of her and smile. One of the funniest nights of my life.

Enjoy!

Can't Tell me Nothin'

its official. Zach Galifianakis is one of the funniest people ever.

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

Day 04 - A song that makes you sad

Song that makes me sad: "Transatlanticism" by Death Cab for Cutie

This song was my "go to" when I was feeling down. I can recall the many times my roomie and I just sat up listening to this song-- reflecting, crying, letting all our emotions out. I think its safe to say this song is quite sad but so beautiful.

Enjoy...

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Day 03 - A song that makes you happy

Song that Makes me Happy: "Sleepyhead" by Passion Pit.

Honestly, every song by Passion Pit makes me happy. They're sound is just so fun and upbeat! I don't think its possible to not feel like you want to dance around in your underoos when they're on!

ENJOY!

Mumford and Sons

Of course these boys from London would be freakin adorable! Check out Mumford and Sons' (my new favorite band) new single "Little Lion Man."

Day 02 - Your least favorite song

So I skipped a few days with this game--oops! My laptop is its death bed so I will not be able to be as efficient as I like, oh well!

here's my numero 2!

Least Favorite Song: Jack Johnson "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing"

Ok, so there are plenty of songs I can list for this one, but for some reason the artist that immediately popped into my head was Jack Johnson. I don't know why, but I cannot stand this man. His songs bore me. I don't mind "Banana Pancakes" but this one seriously gets me cringing. CANNOT STAND HIM.

Cosmic Love

This song is soo Good. I am in desperate need of some new music in my life. I find myself skipping half of what my iPod plays which sorta depresses me. How do I get sick of music?? Well I suppose its a new time in life for me--change is needed everywhere.

This song by Florence + The Machine called "Cosmic Love" is just perfection. Intense lyrics and a perfect beat to go along with it. Repeat please!!

"Get over your hill and see what you find there,
With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair."

I am....

I am timid
And I am oversensitive
I am a lioness
I am tired and defensive
You take me in your arms
And I fold into you
I have insecurities
You show me I am beautiful

Love me or leave me just take it or leave it
It's not that I'm needy just need you to see me
Take me, free me, see through to the core of me
Take me, free me, there will be no more pretending

I am temperamental
And I have imperfections
And I am emotional
I am unpredictable
I am naked
I am vulnerable
I am a woman
I am opening up to you

Love me or leave me, just take it or leave it
It's not that I'm needy, just need you to see me
Take me, free me, see through to the core of me
Take me, free me, there will be no more pretending

Now I stand before you with my heart in my hands
I'm asking you to take me just the way that I am

Please lay down your arms
Do you know me?
Make me feel safe from harm

Oh just take me, free me, see through to the core of me
Take me, free me, there will be no more pretending

I am temperamental
And I have imperfections
And I am emotional
There'll be no more pretending

And If we die, we die together...

Muse "Neutron Star Collision (love is forever)"

Hoesntly, I am hit or miss with Muse. Sometimes I really love their stuff and other times I am kinda bored. This song was actually really catchy from the start---and of course it had to be the song for Twilight's newest release Eclipse. The song does fit the movie and its theme very well. Bella and Edward would die for each other. The song totally makes sense and the clips in the video made me kinda like this some more. I know I know---I'm lame. Either way, enjoy this lovely tune.

The Social Network

When I heard they were making a movie about facebook that was starring Justin Timberlake, I thought--"Oh, boy--what's this mess going to be about?" But after watching the very visually pleasing trailer I was impressed. From the choir rendition of 'Creep' to the what seems to be high mature acting of Jesse Eisenberg, I am pretty pumped for this movie. It looks creative and interesting and I am on board!

Moving on up to the East Side!

I shouldnt start without saying my 4th of July weekend was lots of fun!! My 24th birthday bash in the city was a blast. It was nice to have so many friends come out and celebrate with me :) (Thank you!) Then we celebrated the 4th with one of the most kick-ass bbq's ever. It was soo delicious and patriotic. I enjoyed watching the fireworks by the Jersey Shore.

On the 4th my bf and I attended his cousin's wedding which was again a night of boozing and eating an unhealthy but an amazing amount. This wedding was a lovely Italian/Jewish collaboration! It was my first Jewish wedding and I loved it! They're traditions are so much fun and I think a chuppah is soo pretty to get married under. MAZEL! The cocktail hour was insane. I inhaled an serious about of sushi, shrimp cocktail, and raw clams. I may hate fish but I love my shellfish. My bf's cousin is all about enjoying life. The amount of shots I took this entire weekend is kinda gross but it was so worth it. Cafe Patron was the shot of choice on Sunday and I have now become a serious fan. SOO GOOD! Anyway, the night just continued with dancing, drinking, and celebrating a seriously adorable couple. Congrats Greg and Melissa!!

After this wonderfully jam packed weekend I made a move back to NYC with a few of my items for the time being. As I was packing and preparing I realized how surreal this all was. I have been talking about moving for months and months and now its happening. As much as I am excited, there will be things about home that I will certainly miss. Here's a few:

1) BBQs with the fam...dinner with my family is such a treat and I am happy that I am close enough to see them when I want, but I will miss my BBQ feasts with them a lot.
2) the jersey shore. I haven't been in a WHILE and now that time will only be prolonged. I love the sun, sand, waves--I need to own a house there one day.
3) My car--I will miss driving every and anywhere.
4) My bed...I seriously have an obsession with my bed from home. Its not even THAT comfortable--it just brings me peace at night.
5) last but CERTAINLY NOT THE LEAST: my family. I was used to being surrounded by them all the time. I am such a family person and I am realizing it the more and more I grow older. I don't think I am the type of person to make big moves. My rents and sisters are the most important people in my world and I have to know I can be there for them when they need me.

On that note, I am loving my NYC apartment so far. Its fun and cute and the area is adorable. I am excited for family get togethers and friend sleepovers in the future!!

"I am convinced that attitude is the key to success or failure in almost any of life’s endeavors. Your attitude—your perspective, your outlook, how you feel about yourself, how you feel about other people—determines your priorities, your actions, your values. Your attitude determines how you interact with other people and how you interact with yourself."

Life is what we make of it, right?? In order to get ahead we have to take the first step. Face the fears, embrace confidence. It's funny, because for a pretty outgoing person, I a lack in the confidence area at times. I mean I can get up in front of a random crowd and sing karaoke but when it comes to doing something that matters--something I WANT, I tend to freak out. I'm making some moves this week in lots of different areas of my life. Not really moves per say, but steps forward. I am trying to mentally prepare myself. Repeating "you'll be great" in my head like 500 times a day and praying in every moment of silence. I know I can do this, I know I want this, I just have to find that little bit of confidence that comes out every so often and use it like I have never used it before.

WORLD CUP 2010!

HAPPY FIRSY DAY OF THE WORLD CUP!!!
This is sooo exciting! I love soccer and the World cup. Teams from all over the world compete for the cup yet somehow there's a sense of unity in the air. It's probably the only tournament in which it literally is the whole world competing--unlike the "world" series (which I am a huge fan of-so no hate, just stating.) Ever since I was a child the world cup was a huge deal, which is probably the case in most foreign households. Outside the US, soccer is hugeeeee and the game to watch. It brings the world together! I am beyond excited to sit around with my family and watch the action go down. Too bad Egypt didn't make the cut! But on that note, GO USA!

May!

The month of May has been pretty sweet to me. A few weeks ago my boyfriend scored 2 sweetass tickets to the Yankee Game! They were 250 dollar tickets that I would probably never get the luxury of enjoying again any time soon, so I had to go. The seats were soo close to the field and we really enjoyed the comfort of cushioned seats!! It was a perfect summer like day and of course the Yanks won! Love a good day at a baseball game!

Then thanks to some nice hookups at work I got two tickets to the Taylor Swift Concert and MEET AND GREET PASSES. My heart may have stopped for a minute when I found out. I love Tay Tay!!! What really makes me love her is the fact that she is SO REAL. She has had so much fame happen so fast but yet she's still so down to earth. I lost my shizz a little when I met her not gonna lie but she was seriously nothing but sweet and genuine. Her show was so fun! After her acoustic set, she hugged me again and told me she loved me, no joke. I felt 15 all over again. SO FUN!

This weekend is going to be amazing. My older sister is getting MARRIED!!! I'm so pumped and happy for her. The wedding is going to be so much fun!! Can't wait to party with the fam :)

That about sums up an awesome May!
