someone like you, and all you know, and how you speak...
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. Seriously, I can listen to this over and over. This version is almost even better. Bat For Lashes singer Natasha Khan covered this song beautifully. It seriously gives me chills. Enjoy.

WHAT A WEEKEND.
Thanks to my job and a kick ass friend I was able to attend many MTV VMA Extravaganzas this weekend. It started with the Radio Forum held at Radio City on Friday. Westwood One (my company) puts together this forum for major events in entertainment. So essentially it was 15 different radio stations from around the country broadcasting live from Radio City for the VMAs. My job was to go around and record sponsorship sports for YAHOO!, FreeCreditReport.com, etc etc. It was fun and challenging all at once. As the radio stations broadcast a number of celebrities come to the event to hang out and get some publicity. This year the talent list included: Cobra Starship, Hanson, Twista, Russell Brand, Boys Like Girls, Justin Bieber, Stephen Jenkins from Third Eye Blind, Fa-bo-lo-us ( you just have to spell it out like that), Honor Society, Kid Cudi, Jay Sean, Wale...and so much more. It was def cool to be in the same room as these peeps, but it would have been wayy cooler a few years ago when big names like Alicia Keys attended! Either way, it was a fun 9 hour day which followed celebration at Heartland Brewery after!
On Sunday I got to attend the 2009 MTV VMAs as a seat filler with my friend Anthony! It was incredibly exhilarating! It started with 4 shots of expresso lattes at starbucks to hours and hours of waiting in an abdonded asbestos filled office space. Needless to say, we made out way into the show at about 6:30pm! As we sat in out pretty awesome floor seats we watched as the real celebrities filed in. While waiting for show time we watched as Kanye West felt up Amber Rose. yuckkk! But then we waved and cheered for some faves including: Shakira, Pink (who both wore the same dress), Andy Samberg, Chase Crawford, Leighton Meester, Jimmy Fallon ( cheered with us and offered high fives (LOVE), Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Alicia Keys (who I'm pretty sure I gave a heart attack because I SCREAMED her name to get her attention), P. Diddy, and Solange.
Soon enough the show started and Anthony and I, the fanatics that we are, made are way up front and into better seats. Soon enough we were picked to fill seats..Anthony got to sit in Kanye's seat and whisper sweet nothing to Amber, while I got ditched next to some guy who was friends with the Mayor so he and his 40 something biddy got good seats. I did sit behind Dixon from 90210..whoo looked miserable to be there. WOMP. Eventually, Anthony saved my life and found me where we sat next to FeFe Dobson, Angela and Vanessa Simmons, Whitney from the City, Lauren Conrad, and Damien (from MTV). GOOD TIMES. We jammed to Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" f. Alicia and then the show was a wrap!! It was so much fun, we laughed, we cried, we sweated our balls off, but it was all in all a great time and I am so glad we went!
Highlights of the Night:
-"New Moon" extended Trailer- (MMMMM ROBERT PATTINSON)
- Beyonce being the classy woman that she is and allowing Taylor to have her moment to Shine :)
-Pink's Killer Performance- its rare that a singer actually sings and flips in the air all at one- she gets maddd props for that.
-Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' Performance- Empire State of Mind is my latest jam and they both just amaze me. Jay-Z is genius and Alicia is GORGEOUS and has such an incredible voice!
-Taylor Swifts Performance- She can NEVER go wrong. Plus Anthony had a moment with her and is now famous for it.
- And of course, Janet Jackson's Performance- She danced in-sync w/ the late and great Michael himself. She nearly brought me to tears at the end when it flashed a pic of them together and then faded to just Michael. The performance was perfect and he is truly missed.
FAILURES of the NIGHT:
- Kanye D-Bag West stealing the Mic from sweetheart Tay Tay Swift- NOT COOL AT ALL. Taylor won for Best Female Video and during her acceptance, Kanye thought it was necessary to run on stage, steal the mic and claim that Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. This was completely uncalled for and beyond disrespectful! Beyonce has plenty of awards and probably doesn't even care!! The poor girl was left on stage mortified and clearly embarrassed. But her fans, including me and Anthony did NOT let her down. We all cheered and chanted Taylor! Taylor Swift is very talented and thankfully Beyonce was nice enough to let her have her moment.
-Lady Gaga's Outfits- Everything was just a big WTF moment. Her black funeral get up was odd, her red lace face mask was awkward, and her white fur face wrap was hideous! The woman is strange, there is not questioning that. Even her performance was disturbing, even though I loveee Paparazzi.
- Perez Hilton's Outfit- For someone who has a blog dedicated to fashion, I don't know what the F**K he was thinking...
-Russell Brand as the host for a second year- Same old pervy jokes and nonsense. I think he's funny, but I would have liked a new host.
I actually thought the VMAs were pretty good this year...maybe it was because I was there, either way, it was a good night and I now I await the day I will be running those events ;)

Hey, don't write yourself off yet
It's only in your head you feel left out or
looked down on.
Just try your best, try everything you can.
And don't you worry what they tell themselves when you're away.
It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything will be just fine, everything will be alright.
Hey, you know they're all the same.
You know you're doing better on your own, so don't buy in.
Live right now.
Yeah, just be yourself.
It doesn't matter if it's good enough for someone else.
It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything will be just fine, everything will be alright.
Hey, don't write yourself off yet.
It's only in your head you feel left out or
looked down on.
Just do your best, do everything you can.
And don't you worry what the bitter hearts are gonna say.
It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything will be just fine, everything will be alright.
It's only in your head you feel left out or
looked down on.

Adele's voice is incredible. I can listen to her music in any mood.
She will be performing at VH1's DIVAs Live with Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, Jordin Sparks and Miley Cyrus. I have nooo idea why Miley is there but not Taylor Swift, Pink, Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson...IDK SOMEONE WHO HAS TALENT. Whatever, I still look forward to the show!
