This is incredible. Smiled a lot--but realized I have a lotttt of movies to see.

Re-blogged from now what?

First we lose Matsui, which was somewhat understandable..he was an older player and had a great career with the Yankees. But today we traded Melky Cabrera for Javier Vasquez- starting pitcher of Atlanta Braves. UGH! As much as starting pitchers are needed in NY, to lose Melky was such a defeat. He was a clutch player- young and strong. I personally would have liked to see Johnny Damon go. The passion isn't there for him and he really hasn't wowed us until post season. This is a loss for the Yankees, in my opinion. Gonna really miss Melky!

Happy Holidays!

sad.

2009 has managed to yet again take another life. Brittany Murphy died of cardiac arrest this morning. She was only 32. Incredibly sad. She was a great actress w. movies that include Just Married, Uptown Girls, 8 Mile and my favorite Clueless. RIP Brittany.

Frustation!!!

Why is it that every time I say I want to move out of my small hometown to the city/or around the city people act like its the worst idea in the world?? Yes I am aware rent is high, I'm aware I'll be doing my laundry, barely eating, spending more money than usual...blah blah etc etc. But seruously I am going to be 24 next year. I have been living at home since 2008. NONE of my friends live in the small/pathetic town! I shouldn't be scrutinized for moving out. I should be encouraged to live my life and have my independence dammit! I think I am young enough to make mistakes and figure it out for myself, so if this is a mistake- which i highly doubt it will be, then I will learn it for myself. The sad thing is people don't understand how good I can save sometimes. I think I got this....so everyone else needs to just move out the way and let me be :)

#musicmonday

This song is adorable.
"well the stars up in the sky
and the leaves in the trees
all the broken bits that make you trip up and grassy bits inbetween
all the matter in the world
is how much i like you"

Equality for All!!!

"Like many of you who live in New Jersey, I’ve been following the progress of the marriage-equality legislation currently being considered in Trenton.

I’ve long believed in and have always spoken out for the rights of same sex couples and fully agree with Governor Corzine when he writes that, ‘The marriage-equality issue should be recognized for what it truly is — a civil rights issue that must be approved to assure that every citizen is treated equally under the law.’

I couldn’t agree more with that statement and urge those who support equal treatment for our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters to let their voices be heard now."

"Peace is unstable where citizens are denied the right to speak freely or worship as they please; choose their own leaders or assemble without fear. ... A just peace includes not only civil and political rights _ it must encompass economic security and opportunity. For true peace is not just freedom from fear, but freedom from want." -President Barack Obama

So proud. Peace on Earth!

and I'm always going to want to blow your mind...

When I first heard Train was back with a new song, I laughed. Train? Really?? But I am not going to lie, this song "Hey, Soul Sister" is unbelievably catchy and kind of heartwarming. My friend Brett mentioned he liked it and I finally gave the song a try and was slightly in love. I just love when artists come up with new lyrics and a new way to profess their love. Give it a listen above!

P.S Vevo- new version of youtube- all music videos on HD= AWESOME!

Reblogged from La Dolce Vita. I like this quote a lot today. I need to acquire this mentality.

I miss you.

This song is amazing. I loved it so much last season when it came out and once again winter rolls around and I want to hear this over and over again. I think this is such a fitting mood for the winter. Although the holidays are cheerful, the season itself is rather depressing--at least in my opinion. Sara and Ingrid's voice compliment each other so well. I just love everything about this song and adorable video!!

Reblogged from now what?

This was quite touching.

2009 International Emmy's

It's been quite a while...sorry!

But while I was gone for a while I did get to be a talent escort at the International Emmy's this year. To my surprise, I was asked to escort what my boss called "the terrible trio." I was surprised because it was my first year and I was asked to escort three guests, while most veterans were only asked to escort one. I suppose she found me qualified to do the job then! Now my friends who got me this gig, have mentioned that there were usually not many A listers- or at least anyone worth anything at the Emmys. However, I was handed my terrible trio to discover I was escorting Alexa Chung- MTV VJ, Moby- infamous singer from back in the day, and my favorite- Ed Westwick. Yes, that's right, I got to walk side by side with one and only, Mr. C huck Bass. Now if you watch Gossip Girl at all you know this is HUGE. Ed Westwick is gorgeous and his accent is brilliant/to die for. Unfortunately they wre called the terrible trio for a reason. They were all brought in with obnoxious publicist and talent agents who allowed them to say two words and photograph for a hot sec. They're appearance at the Emmy's was made and then they were off! However, it was still fun to say I was in the presence of such hottness. Oh and I also walked right by THE Miss Barbara Walters :)

Here are some pics from that night:

P.S. Alexa was nice, even though I can't really stand her. She really needs to eat a burger too.

Friend --

Tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day, Americans across the country will sit down together, count our blessings, and give thanks for our families and our loved ones.

American families reflect the diversity of this great nation. No two are exactly alike, but there is a common thread they each share.

Our families are bound together through times of joy and times of grief. They shape us, support us, instill the values that guide us as individuals, and make possible all that we achieve.

So tomorrow, I'll be giving thanks for my family -- for all the wisdom, support, and love they have brought into my life.

But tomorrow is also a day to remember those who cannot sit down to break bread with those they love.

The soldier overseas holding down a lonely post and missing his kids. The sailor who left her home to serve a higher calling. The folks who must spend tomorrow apart from their families to work a second job, so they can keep food on the table or send a child to school.

We are grateful beyond words for the service and hard work of so many Americans who make our country great through their sacrifice. And this year, we know that far too many face a daily struggle that puts the comfort and security we all deserve painfully out of reach.

So when we gather tomorrow, let us also use the occasion to renew our commitment to building a more peaceful and prosperous future that every American family can enjoy.

It seems like a lifetime ago that a crowd met on a frigid February morning in Springfield, Illinois to set out on an improbable course to change our nation.

In the years since, Michelle and I have been blessed with the support and friendship of the millions of Americans who have come together to form this ongoing movement for change.

You have been there through victories and setbacks. You have given of yourselves beyond measure. You have enabled all that we have accomplished -- and you have had the courage to dream yet bigger dreams for what we can still achieve.

So in this season of thanks giving, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to you, and my anticipation of the brighter future we are creating together.

With warmest wishes for a happy holiday season from my family to yours,

President Barack Obama

Thank you Mr. President. This year I am thankful for a wonderful President :)

My favorite Tay Tay moment....obviously bc we share the same loving/obsessive feelings for Justin Timberlake. She has the perfect reaction to him surprising her. CUTE!

Miranda Bailey played by Chandra Wilson is an incredible actress. This is from the episode aired on 11.19...where Miranda puts her father in his place. Chandra can always make me cry, shes soo intense and really makes you feel for the character. Also the singer singing "Silent Night" in the background is actually Sara Ramirez who plays Callie on the show. AMAZING!

New Moon- the second film/book from the infamous Twilight Saga came out last weekend and of course I saw it. It was SO GOOD. Very true to the book and had great special effects. I mean the books will always be better, but I loved it! Team Edward! haha

Sigh. He's sooo cute.

Alicia Keys' second single "Sleeping with a Broken Heart" is much better than her first. The video is strange, but this beat is sick.

JM = Genius

Its true, John Mayer's album "Battle Studies" is an A+! Each of his songs tell a story. I love the sounds and lyrics and the album really is a perfect tone for this time of year. Here is one of my favorite's "Heartbreak Warfare" performed on the Today Show!

Quote of the Day...

"Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from - it’s where you take them to."
Jim Jarmusch

Andrew McMahon was on the Daily Show tonight. He was so adorable and spoke of his fight with Leukemia and the documentary, "Dear Jack" that captures his life during that difficult time. This reminded me of a friend who was diagnosed with aplastic anemia earlier this year. He, like Andrew, was only 22 when he found out of this rare blood disease. Also much like Andrew he must fight to find a bone marrow donor in order to survive. I sent this song to my friend hoping it will find him some hope and strength in a struggling time.

This is awesome. And so me.

Robert Pattinson was on Regis and Kelly this morning. Kelly said he was a very "gracious young man." Silly Kelly, we know that. That's why we LOVE him...and bc hes hott as hell. ;)

Dear Miley Cyrus, I hate you. Shut your dumb mouth. You are a waste of celebrity status and twilight will be bigger than you ever will. You don't listen to pop music?! Are you aware Jay-Z isn't pop?? Are you aware you sing pop music? And how have you never heard a Jay-Z song?? Do you live under a rock?? Oh wait, you're 16 so you're probably listening to Justin Bieber and other teeny bopper shit! Please just go live in your anti- twilight, anti-twitter world- you freak. Lovee, Me.

i like.

One for One Movement

I am a huge advocate ordinary people helping to make a difference in the world. I've decided that its a big part of who I want to be in the world and so I want to blog about others who are also doing the same. Tom's shoes is an organization started by Blake Mycoskie who used to travel the world and noticed that a lot of kids were running around barefoot because they couldn't afford shoes to protect their feet. So he started Tom's Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. It has become so successful and he has donated roughly 150,000 shoes to children in need. His goal is to reach 300,000. I am moved and motivated by Blake's mission and I hope everyone else joins him in such a wonderful cause. Here's the site to purchase his shoes: http://www.tomsshoes.com/default.asp. I have actually heard great things about these shoes- super comfy and very cute. I really need to get my hands on some. They used to have these awesome blue and brown peace sign ones, but I think they're off the site :( Either way, I have to get myself a pair and help a child in need this holiday season!

Mark Salling pays homage to Glee. LOVE IT.

Robert Pattinson's publicist probably hates Kristen Stewart too and doesn't want to think of their potential relationship..... OR she's just doing her job and only allowing movie related questions. Sighhhh. NEW MOON IN 4 DAYS!!! :D

Shakira has always been one of my favorite artists. She is very talented and not to mention and an incredible dancer! I really liked Laundry Service because it was filled with deep meaningful songs that had powerful lyrics. Oral Fixation 2 wasn't a favorite but I did think it eased her into her new direction. Her newest album, She Wolf comes out on November 23rd. Although most singles--"She Wolf" and "Give it Up to Me", are more dance oriented and not really deep in meaning, I still think they are really good musically. This video above is for the single "Did it Again." I loved how they portrayed the love/hate relationship between in two, through dancing on a bed. Its intimate and sexy. Nobody could pull this off like Shakira!

SING IT GIRL! Chorus 22's "No One"-by Alicia Keys
Yes I am in love....
pic: courtesy of perez.
Nothing makes a show better than a good cast. Glee's cast members are amazing talented and so down to earth. I follow all their twitter accounts and its just like following one of my friends. I got this picture off of Dianna Agron's (Quinn) blog...she took the pic herself while promoting the show with the cast. It's got hottness written all over it.

New Dashboard Confessional Cd Came out this week...how did I have NO idea?? Well here's there first single. It's definitely different than when they first came out. However I like the transformation they've made. This song is catchy...I can learn to like it more. SONG: "Belle of the Boulevard"

beautiful song.

David Gray "Please Forgive Me"

Please forgive me
If I act a little strange
For I know not what I do.
Feels like lightning running through my veins
Every time I look at you
Every time I look at you

Help me out here
All my words are falling short
And there's so much I want to say
Want to tell you just how good it feels
When you look at me that way
When you look at me that way

Throw a stone and watch the ripples flow
Moving out across the bay
Like a stone I fall into your eyes
Deep into that mystery
Deep into some mystery

I got half a mind to scream out loud
I got half a mind to die
So I won't ever have to lose you girl
Won't ever have to say goodbye
I won't ever have to lie
Won't ever have to say goodbye

Please forgive me
If I act a little strange
For I know not what I do
feels like lightning running through my veins

Every time I look at you
Every time I look at you
Every time I look at you
Every time I look at you

Love this jam and the video! Sean Kingston "Face Drop"
The cast at Borders.

Um hello Corey, Marry Me?? Thank you Love you bye.

Okay so I might be a little bit obsessed with Glee. But who isn't? If you are a music lover and well I guess band geek you would love this show. I was in my high school's version of Glee Club--aka Varsity Singers and Dancers-- and I loved every minute of it. So I can relate to the show, even though we were never as good as Glee. Not to mention the cast and music is phenomenal. This is seriously my new fave show. Yesterday they released their first soundtrack which I now own it and have on repeat on my Ipod. The cast also did a CD signing at the Borders at Columbus Circle in NY to promote it. I work about 10 minutes from there but I wasn't able to spend all day waiting to meet them although I realllllly wish I had. Anyway, I am a totally Gleek and cannot wait til it returns next week...until then enjoy the pics above!
Glee Cast singing National Anthem at Game 3 of World Series in Philly. Oh and the Yankees won :)

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

I know I posted this song before. But this just really hit a spot today. My dear dear friend lost her dad a few months back. I just found out today. He attempted saving someone else's life from drowning but lost his own. He is a hero and forever will be in my book. So to my friend--

Keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
Just stay strong
'Cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you
There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through

Not the best cover, but definitely a must buy because I am falling in love with Corey Monteith.

Leave Me from Daros Films on Vimeo.

Not quite sure what this is. I saw it on Le Love. It is beautiful and sad all at once.

This is my absolute favorite number by the Glee cast. LOVE.

This was one of my favorite performances on GLEE. This song is really good, even if Avril Lavigne sang it. I just love the cast and how they portrayed this song with their situation.
SO GOOD.
Mark Salling plays Puck on GLEE. How delicious does he look here.

John Mayer- Why Georgia.

I am driving up 85 in the
kind of morning that lasts all afternoon
just stuck inside the gloom

Four more exits to my apartment but
I am tempted to keep the car in drive
and leave it all behind

Cause I wonder sometimes
about the outcome
of a still verdictless life

Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Why, why Georgia, why?

I rent a room and I fill the spaces with
wood in places to make it feel like home
but all I feel's alone
It might be a quarter life crisis
or just the stirring in my soul

Either way, I wonder sometimes
about the outcome
of a still verdictless life

Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Why, why Georgia, why?

So what, so I've got a smile on me
but it's hiding the quiet superstitions in my head
Don't believe me
Don't believe me
When I say I've got it down

Everybody is just a stranger but
that's the danger in going my own way
I guess it's the price I have to pay
still "Everything happens for a reason"
is no reason not to ask myself

If you're living it right
Are you living it right?
Are you living it right?
Why, tell me why
Why, why Georgia why?

I would have LOVED to have been at this concert...My true love, JT, babygirl Tay Tay and my idol Alicia all in one room rocking out for the Shriners Hospital benefiting Children--AMAZING.
I need to learn to LIVE FOR THE MOMENT. no more stressing/over planning...just show up, have fun and live LIFE.

Here are things I am looking forward to:

1) recreating this tomorrow
2) Watching GAME 5 in the greatest city ever (aka watching the Yanks win the Pennant :)

3) DELAWARE HOMECOMING 2009 next weeeekend, which also means 3 day weekend!

PS-22 Does it again!

Believe me I cannot stand the Balloon boy and his ridiculous family however, this I'm In a Box parody had me rollingggg

Sadly I am unimpressed by Alicia Keys' new song "Doesn't Mean Anything." Even the video is slightly awkward. Hopefully her second single off of "The Element of Freedom" will wow me more.

So my new fave artist is Kate Nash. I heard her song Foundations a WHILEE back and loved it soo much. But then I never heard another song by her and usually that determines me buying someones cd....however I downloaded it recently and it brilliant!! Her accent is adorable but her lyrics get me the most. So honest and real and FUNNY! I highly recommend giving Made of Bricks a listen. Fave Song: Nicest Thing, Funniest Song: We Get On

Re-Blog!

all these crazy rules

tumblr

so i’m trying pretty hard to be perfect. perhaps perfect is too strong; mindful, considerate, eager to please, call it what you will.

don’t text too much because it comes across as desperate. never send two texts in a row for the same reason. no facebook chat every time he logs on, ‘cause that’s desperate too, as is ‘Liking’ everything he posts, so don’t do that either. remember not to ask when we’re seeing each other next because nonchalance is key, right? don’t sound to eager when he suggests doing something in the future, remember, nonchalance. when you’re out with other people, don’t demand his attention, he’s not there just for you. and don’t make an issue of him making friends with new girls, that’s asking for trouble, you don’t want to look jealous and insecure. when he wants to go to sleep before you do, don’t latch onto him because you’ll seem weak, needy, intense.

all these crazy rules i’ve made up in my head so you don’t see past this facade. i’m not nonchalant, i over-think everything. i can be intense, and i’m definitely jealous at times. but in essence, at the crux of all this overanalysation; i am insanely in love with you. i just wish you knew how far away i am from nonchalance.

-tseluyu.

Found this on Le Love and I 100% relate with this girl.

Kate Nash "Nicest Thing"

WOW, this song is amazing. Its honest and filled with emotion. Kate Nash is awesome, her voice is very good and unique.

Monday, October 12, 2009

I need you so much closer.
I need you so much closer.
I need you so much closer.
I need you so much closer.
I need you so much closer.
I need you so much closer.
I need you so much closer.
I need you so much closer.
I need you so much closer.
I need you so much closer.

So come on.
'Cause I don't wanna wait until tomorrow
To tell you how I feel the rest of my life
You don't wanna waste another minute when you realize

Walking on the dark side of the evening
Maybe it was you that opened my eyes
Burning like a fire on the water the city of black and white
Won't you just stay? Won't you just stay?

Won't you just stay now when the light goes
Under a dark street no one else knows?
So take my hands I'll carry you, you can carry me

Congrats President Obama

This morning, Michelle and I awoke to some surprising and humbling news. At 6 a.m., we received word that I’d been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009.

To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who’ve been honored by this prize — men and women who’ve inspired me and inspired the entire world through their courageous pursuit of peace.

But I also know that throughout history the Nobel Peace Prize has not just been used to honor specific achievement; it’s also been used as a means to give momentum to a set of causes.

That is why I’ve said that I will accept this award as a call to action, a call for all nations and all peoples to confront the common challenges of the 21st century. These challenges won’t all be met during my presidency, or even my lifetime. But I know these challenges can be met so long as it’s recognized that they will not be met by one person or one nation alone.

This award — and the call to action that comes with it — does not belong simply to me or my administration; it belongs to all people around the world who have fought for justice and for peace. And most of all, it belongs to you, the men and women of America, who have dared to hope and have worked so hard to make our world a little better.

So today we humbly recommit to the important work that we’ve begun together. I’m grateful that you’ve stood with me thus far, and I’m honored to continue our vital work in the years to come.

Thank you,

President Barack Obama

-Amen Prez. I am glad that we honored a man who is attempting to bring this world to PEACE.

Cynthia Nixon standing up for what she believes in. Great speech and as my good friend said- she is such a gracious, beautiful woman. EQUALITY FOR ALL!!! <3

Get Involved!

I had friends at both the Avon Breast Cancer Walk in NYC and at the Equality March in DC today. Seeing the tremendous amount of support at both causes got me motivated to get involved. Congrats to those of you who marched for your rights and finished a half marathon walk in support of breast cancer research!

Picture, you're the queen of everything
As far as the eye can see
Under your command
I will be your guardian
When all is crumbling
To steady your hand

this is pretty........true.

That I would be good even if I did nothing
That I would be good even if I got the thumbs down
That I would be good if I got and stayed sick
That I would be good even if I gained ten pounds

That I would be fine even even if I went bankrupt
That I would be good if I lost my hair and my youth
That I would be great if I was no longer queen
That I would be grand if I was not all knowing

That I would be loved even when I numb myself
That I would be good even when I am overwhelmed
That I would be loved even when I was fuming
That I would be good even if I was clingy

That I would be good even if I lost sanity
That I would be good
Whether with or without you
