I guess we're all one phone call from our knees.
I really do have an obsession with Taylor Swift. She's too adorable. I love the Twilight spoof! Taylor, can we be friends? :)

Oh, She's just being Miley...
RIP John Hughes

The incredibly talented director of some of the most influential movies (and some of my absolute favorite movies of all time) has passed away. John Hughes, 59, was strolling with his family in the streets of NYC when he suffered a heart attack and died. John Hughes was a legend, his movies-- The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink and Home Alone 2 and 3 were some of the many masterpieces he created. Anyone who was born in the 80s know that Hughes' movies were a huge part of their childhood. It's so sad to see someone so genius go. My heart goes out to his family and friends. RIP John Hughes.
Dance Forever...ever.ever.
So I am sure, everyone has seen the infamous Jill and Kevin Wedding Dance video featuring sleeezy Chris Brown's song "Forever." Well i most certainly fell in LOVE with this idea and video and now am preparing a similar extravaganza for my wedding one day haha. But with all the media attention Jill and Kevin have decided to make good out of it. They decided to create a site where people can donate to Sheila Wellstone Institute. Shelia Wellstone was an advocate for putting an end to domestic violence. Jill and Kevin have done a wonderful thing with their new found fame and I truly commend them!!

Here's To You, New Yorkkk

For the last two weeks I have been a nomad of sorts living in NYC while my friend and boyfriend apartment sat. It has not only affirmed my love for the city but has made me want to do whatever it takes to move here ASAP. While staying here I have gotten to try some authentic tapas for the first time, dined in Little Italy while having F.O.B Italian men serenade me, enjoy the deliciousness that is crumbs cupcakes, lounge in Bryant Park two nights in a row, sit in the middle of time square on lawn chairs, see movie screenings, etc. etc. The list goes on. I'm by no means a tourist to the city, but when I don't have to furiously try to make a bus before the wee hours of the night, its so nice to enjoy the sights and sounds of NYC almost as a tourist. I just can't express how much I am in love with this City. I can't wait to spend my days here (soon!)

Julie & Julia Review

Last night I saw a screening of the new film "Julie and Julia." This movie was adorably funny as it told the story of the endearing chef Julia Child as it related the average-life of Julie Powell. Both woman mimicked they're life struggles from moving to new locations, dealing with husbands, and ultimately finding who they really are. Meryl Streep portrayed a picture perfect depiction of Julia's quirky and witty personality as Amy Adams had you relating with the struggle of an young female New Yorker just trying to fix loose ends. It was a movie about triumph and ambition that taught you to stick at what you love NO matter what. Overall, I thought it was well scripted and very cute, only objection was it was slightly too long for my liking. I think parts could have been left out and it still would have been just as cute. Nonetheless, it made me feel good afterward :)
Overall Grade: 3 1/2 Stars
